Sprouts Weekly Deals and Meal Ideas

Sprouts has some really good deals on meats and produce this week. You will definitely want to make a trip there to stock up on their grass fed ground beef. Also, this week Sprouts mailer has a $5 off a $30 purchase coupon. If you don’t get these in the mail, make sure to grab one on your way into the store. So here are a few of my picks with meal ideas.

Dinner Ideas – 

Taco Tuesday, Grab some tortillas, ground beef, cheese,avocados, limes, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and beans. Use your food processor to make some pico, warm some pintos or black beans, and brown your ground beef with some cumin, chili powder, onion and garlic powder. This is easy and kid friendly!

Make a beef stew – Grab the stew meat, some beef broth,tomatoes, a pack of frozen mixed veggies, onions, and potatoes to make an easy crock pot stew. You will want to brown the stew meat a little before putting in the crock pot. Throw in a couple of bay leaves, salt, pepper and garlic powder for flavor.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Whole Chicken with roast butternut squash and asparagus – Cook the chicken in a crock pot with a little chicken broth, salt and pepper, and onion. Roast the asparagus and butternut squash on a lined baking sheet with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. Bake at 400 for 20 -25 minutes.

Stuffed Bell Peppers

Recipe of the Week:

Chicken Noodle Soup

2 32oz boxes of Chicken broth

1 rotisserie chicken shredded or cooked chicken shredded or diced

2 Stalk celery diced

3 carrots chopped/ or baby carrots chopped

1/2 – 3/4 bag egg noodles

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

Combine broth, chicken, chopped veggies and spices in a stock pan. Bring to a boil, then simmer until veggies are tender. Add  noodles and cook for about 15 more minutes until noodles are tender. Serve with French or Garlic Bread.

Kroger Weekly Deals and Meal Ideas

Kroger has a huge buy 10 get $5 off sale this week, where you can grab some lunch and breakfast items. I would suggest making a list of which of these items you want to get, so you aren’t just grabbing stuff to have 10 items. If you are ordering through Clicklist, the final price won’t show up when you are adding items to your cart and you will have to search some of the items. They will show up as on sale and your receipt should reflect those final savings. It will just take a little extra work on your part. There are also some good meat and produce sales this week. Smoked Sausage with Red Beans and Rice with Avocado Slices (Slice the sausage and “brown” in a frying pan, grab Mahatma or Zatarains red beans and rice mix and cook as directed.)

Dinner Ideas:

This is a great crock pot recipe sale. You can cook chicken legs, ribs, and the Pork Roast all in the crock pot. Grab a couple of bags of the carrots and a bag of the potatoes. Roast the carrots with salt and pepper and slice the potatoes, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and bake. You can have the same sides for two meals.

Season the meats with barbeque sauce or even just salt and pepper. With the pork roast you can make  pork soft tacos, with sliced avocado, tomatoes, pinto beans and cheese.
